What Is Choreography Riding?
Although Choreography Riding is not an official riding sport, I created the idea as a new type of club for Star Stable. It is basically like Dressage except the moves are more complex, they involve between 2, 5 and 10 riders depending on the type of move.
Choreography riding is very appealing to the eye.
One of the most basic Choreography move is what I call 'The Moving Weave'. This is where the two or more riders line up with a space between them, and two or more riders ''weave'' between the stood riders, before taking up the position of the stood riders, who then do the same as the riders who wove between them:
The most complex move is 'Walk, Split, Circle'. This involves there to be a straight line of riders, walking, trotting, or cantering (depending on the skill), and then some riders splitting off from the group, going ahead of the remaining rider, making them stop, and then re-joining as a full group again, walking back to where they started.
We tend to make sure the horses are of a similar built, otherwise making sure the horses are walking in a line becomes difficult.
How The Lesson Begins:
(This is based off a general lesson. Not an advanced lesson)
When you arrive, depending on if you are doing a solo lesson or group, you will be asked to line up with the other horses, then the instructor will tell you what you will be doing first.
Before anything begins, you will be asked to walk, trot, and canter up and down the ring once as a warm up. Next as a group you will perform, or learn how to do, The Moving Weave and then begin to learn a new move.
When you become more advanced, instead of performing The Moving Weave, you will do 'Walk, Split, Circle' no matter how well you can do it- Practise makes perfect!
What Tack To Wear:
Besides having to wear the correct colour coded saddle pad and boots, what about the tack itself?
We often ask our riders to make sure the saddle and bridle are as realistic as possible.
What We Allow:
- Black Bridles
- Brown Bridles
- Coloured Chin Straps
- Black Saddle
- Brown Saddle
- Saddle with fur detailing
What We DON'T Allow
- Any bright (Pink, yellow, light blue etc.) bridles
- Bright Saddles
- Bows, ribbons or any mane and tail accessories. Although you are allowed to wear a rosette or medal.
||||||Please Note This Is Just For Events. As a club member, you will not be forced to wear correct clothing when not at lessons or events.||||||

Although we'd hate to make you not ride a certain horse, there are a few horse breeds we can't allow because of their size or colour.
